Saturday 18 May, from 12:00 to 23:30

Place de l'Albertine (Safer Zone)

Why have a Safer Pride?

To ensure that everyone can enjoy the event in the best possible conditions and in complete safety, Brussels Pride will be rolling out a Safer Pride scheme throughout the day. A Safer Zone will be set up at a strategic location, on place de l'Albertine. This is a calm space staffed by volunteers and professionals to provide a sympathetic ear and psycho-social or medical support if needed. A mobile SACHA Care Team will also be deployed around Pride. This essential service is the result of collaboration between Plan SACHA (Safe Attitude against Harassment and Aggression), volunteers from the Centre de Prise en Charge des Violences Sexuelles (Sexual Assault Centres), RainbowHouse and teams from visit.brussels.

Which services are available in the Safer Zone?

And who manages them?

The Safer Zone is a reception area where you can get information, advice and referral to other services if necessary. It is run by visit.brussels in collaboration with Plan SACHA and volunteers from the Sexual Assault Centres.

Everyone can access the Safer Zone Welcome Desk, which is prominently located on place de l'Albertine.

To ensure a calm and confidential environment, certain areas of the Safer Zone are private and accessible only via the Welcome Desk filtering system.

In practice

The Safer Zone will be open from 12:00 to 23:30 and will be located on place de l'Albertine, in the heart of Pride Village. It will be easy to get to and clearly signposted. If you need any assistance or advice, you can contact the Safer Zone by calling the SACHA company on +32 493 40 52 00 or sending an e-mail to safe@visit.brussels.

What to do if you witness or are the victim of discrimination or violence during Pride

If you witness an act of discrimination or LGBTQIA+phobic, sexual and/or sexist violence, please come forward. Offer to accompany the victim to the Safer Zone (on place de l'Albertine) or go to the Care Team deployed at Pride to ask for help.

If you are a victim, head to the Safer Zone (on place de l'Albertine) where volunteers and professionals will be able to help you, or contact the SACHA telephone number: +32 493 40 52 00 (call, text or whatsapp).

Alternatively, if you don't need immediate support, you can write to safe@visit.brussels.

If you don't feel well during Brussels Pride

Whether physically or emotionally, if you're not feeling well during the event, you can go to the Welcome Desk in the Safer Zone (on place de l'Albertine) for help. Advisers will inform you and guide you according to your needs.

There you will find:

-              An Advanced Medical Post (AMP), run by the Red Cross, which provides first aid and medical assistance.

-              A Safer Zone managed by visit.brussels, Plan SACHA and volunteers from the Sexual Assault Centres to provide a sympathetic ear, emotional support and front-line psycho-social assistance.

If you want to go home

-              Ask a friend to accompany you.

-              If you’re alone. Contact someone you trust to come and get you.

-              If you want to go home on your own, you can go to the Welcome Desk in the Safer Zone ( on place de l'Albertine) and they will call you a Safe Taxi.
